Waste tracking

Verified at source. Not estimated after the fact.

A waste record here is a photograph, a weight net of the bin, a tenant, a stream, an EWC code and a timestamp. It is captured the moment the bags hit the scale, and it is the layer every report, recharge and alert stands on.

What gets captured

Five facts per disposal.

  1. 01

    Who

The tenant, identified by PIN or read from the RFID tag. Building-level PINs let staff select; tenant-level PINs need no selection at all.

  2. 02

    What

The waste stream, selected on screen or auto-detected from the bag. Every stream carries its EWC code and disposal outcome.

  3. 03

    How much

The weight from the integrated smart scale, net of the bin type’s recorded tare weight. All bags of a stream are weighed together.

  4. 04

    When and where

Timestamp, building and waste room, logged automatically.

  5. 05

    Evidence

The kiosk camera photographs the disposal as it sits on the scale. The photo stays attached to the record.

Records are tamper-evident and permission-controlled: what was logged is what the reports read.

With RFID

The trail starts before the waste room.

With RFID bags, the chain of custody begins on the tenant’s own floor: each bag is pre-assigned to a tenant and stream in the platform before it is ever used. At the kiosk, the reader detects everything, and disposal collapses to a single step: weigh and confirm.

No manual tenant selection, no manual stream selection, no selection errors. The transformation is not efficiency for its own sake; it is that the data arrives verified because there was nothing left to get wrong.
